What Makes the Shallow Casserole Special

Wider Cooking Surface

Shallow Casserole

A shallow casserole dish offers a larger cooking surface compared to traditional deep casseroles. This wider base allows ingredients to be spread evenly, encouraging more efficient browning, caramelisation, and reduction of sauces. With plenty of room, flavours can develop beautifully without overcrowding the pan.

Versatile Sloped Sides

Shallow Casserole

The shallow casserole is designed with lower, sloped sides, offering plenty of room for stews, bakes, and roasts while making it easier to manage heat and moisture. Its gently curved bottom enhances versatility, allowing food to be stirred, tossed, or sautéed with ease, and makes scooping and serving directly from the pan simple.

Built for Versatility

Shallow Casserole

Crafted from premium cast iron and finished with our signature enamel, this shallow casserole is the ultimate everyday multi-tasker. Its shallow shape and even heat distribution make it ideal for a wide variety of recipes – from stovetop searing to oven baking, with or without the lid. Designed to move effortlessly from kitchen to table, it handles everything from hearty stews to indulgent desserts like creamy tiramisu.

FAQs

Deep casseroles are ideal for soups, slow braises, and recipes with a high liquid content. Shallow casseroles excel for searing meat, layering dishes, or baking until golden and bubbling. For many cooks, it’s the perfect complement to a deep casserole — offering versatility that bridges stovetop and oven cooking with ease.

1.Handle with care – Always use oven gloves for hot cookware.

2. Use gentle heat – Cook on medium or low (even when searing). Allow the pan to heat gradually.

Induction tips – Match the hob ring size to the casserole for even cooking and to protect handles.

3.On glass hobs – Lift, don’t slide, to prevent damage.

4.Utensils – Use silicone, wooden, or heat-resistant plastic to protect the enamel.

  1. Cool first – Let the casserole cool before washing.
  2. Clean gently – Avoid metal pads or harsh abrasives. For stuck-on food, soak in warm soapy water for 15–20 minutes.
  3. Hand wash recommended – The enamelled cast iron body and knobs can go in the dishwasher, but hand washing is recommended to preserve their lustre. Gold or copper-finish knobs must be hand washed. Special-finish knobs, such as gold or copper, should always be hand-washed.
  4. Dry well – Always dry thoroughly before storing.
